This year's outstanding slate of candidates for National Director includes one gentleman in particular who truly exemplifies the value of membership in the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) as well as the importance of giving back. Ronald A. Banaszak, Jr., CCM, CCE is running for reelection for the 2011 Board of Directors of CMAA and needs our support in order to continue his fine work on our behalf.
Ron began his involvement with CMAA in 1992 through participation in the student chapter at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. As a result, he began his career in private clubs at the age of 21, interning at outstanding clubs which, along with continuing education through CMAA, led him to his current position as General Manager/Chief Operating Officer at the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, one of our nation's premier private yacht clubs.
Through his consistent active participation in CMAA, Ron is truly a product of the Association and clearly understands the essential role it plays in the professional development of outstanding club professionals. His commitment to the industry has been demonstrated through his service as Chapter President, Wine Society Host, and through active participation on state and national committees. He was also instrumental in the formation of The Golden State Chapter and recently completed CMAA education to attain the distinction of Certified Chief Executive.
Last year with your support, Ron's dedication to the Association and his leadership skills were rewarded when he secured his current one year term as a National Director. In short, Ron possesses a high level of professionalism, integrity and leadership which has served him well and with your help will continue to serve us as fellow members of CMAA.
I believe in Ron and am proud to endorse his candidacy. I respectfully request that you offer your support to this remarkable candidate so that he may continue his fine work on our behalf. Remember that on-line voting begins December 1 and continues through the World Conference in Orlando.

The Club Managers Association of America (CMAA), is the cornerstone of professional development for the private club general manager. The daily operations of CMAA are handled by our capable and knowledgeable National Staff, and our Board of Directors provides the leadership our association and our industry need to perform at the highest level. The history and culture of our association is molded by our Board.
Our association needs volunteers on the Board that can lead, and leadership is a skill CMAA has a track record of developing in its members. Being a product of this leadership development I am confident this is the area that I can best serve CMAA. Our association is at the forefront of the Chief Operating Officer concept and is now determined to develop the Chief Executive Officer concept.
To continue to be successful, CMAA will need us as students to learn, create and build a visionary foundation. This dedicated effort will take our careers, our association and our Clubs to the next level. Also, our focus needs to remain on fulfilling the educational needs of the members as well as continuing to foster an environment of camaraderie and keeping the bar set very high as it relates to professionalism. By living and enhancing these standards our association will perpetuate its reputation as the leader, with all others to follow and emulate.
As a Director, it would be my purpose to serve the association with the high standards to which we have all become accustomed. It would be my privilege and honor to give back to the organization that has given me, my family and my Club so much. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful volunteer organization for us to learn from and give back to.
So, I ask for your vote of confidence by voting for me as a Director of the CMAA.
